In an ambitious certification procedure, the spa town of Piešťany in Slovakia recently had all its hotels audited by EuropeSpa. And it was very successful – for having demonstrated their high standards of quality and safety, they were all awarded the EuropeSpa med certificate. 

For over a century, Piešťany has been one of Europe's foremost health resorts for the treatment of rheumatic diseases as well as rehabilitation of the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system. Its locally occurring sulphurous peloid combined with thermal water is absolutely unique. Therapy soothes arthritis and restores mobility. Moreover, the immune system is strengthened, damaged cartilage is regenerated, and the degenerative wear of joints is slowed down. The highly trained physicians compile individual spa programmes for each guest. The spa island is an oasis of calm and relaxation, yet also offers active sports recreation.
